Lovely Grace Myers

Hailey has been my best friend since we were babies. I realize what a huge blessing it is to have had a friend that literally has gone through every stage of life with me. She is such a treasure in my life! The last couple years have been incredibly difficult for Hailey. She miscarried her first baby in 2014 and then also miscarried twins in 2015. To say it was difficult, is such an understatement…but God faithfully carried Hailey through that dark season. It’s so hard watching those you love go through hard seasons. But, it also was an amazing thing to watch – as the Lord brought her into new depths with Him, gave comfort & peace, and now continues to use her story to minister to others. The Lord works all things together for our good & His glory (Romans 8:28). So this baby girl, Lovely Grace Myers…is a testimony that God hears our prayers, loves us dearly, & turns our mourning into dancing. He IS good…always good.

Hailey had mentioned to me that she wanted me to be her doula at Lovely’s birth, since she wanted to try to have a natural birth with no pain meds. I was SO excited and wanted to try to make it to Tulsa for the birth. Hailey was convinced that baby sis would come late, just like her big brother did…but sis had other plans. She had plans to come 10 days early! I had a gut feeling after her recent doctor’s appointment that I should pack the boys up and head to Tulsa just in case labor began. I am so glad I did! I made it in plenty of time and was able to help Hailey through the hardest parts of labor. She did AMAZING! Two of Hailey’s sisters & mom were there too…so really it just felt like a big party! Lovely came so quickly in the end, that Hailey’s sister-in-law wasn’t able to make it in time to take birth photos — so I quickly grabbed my camera and became the back up photographer. I was glad I decided to bring my camera just in case. I love looking through these pictures and reliving it all. I am so proud of Hailey and feel so grateful that I got to be a part of her promised baby girl’s birth.

Sloan’s Birth

These photos are dear to my heart since this beautiful lady is my sister, Samantha. She wanted me to be there to photograph the birth of her third child, a little girl! We have mostly boys in the family, so we were thrilled to add a girl in the mix. (Don’t get me wrong, we love our abundance of boys.) 🙂 I was able to come into town a little early before her due date to await the arrival of sweet Sloan. Well, when this little girl decided it was time to come, she didn’t waste any time! In fact, she came so quickly, that Sam didn’t have time to get an epidural….SURPRISE! (Not in the plan!) My sister did amazing and totally rocked an all-natural birth. So, I ended up doing a little doula & photography services combined….which I loved! Little Sloan is beyond precious and we are so blessed to have her in our family.
